A large outdoor trade exposition and pageant is set for next week in River Forest and Forest Park. An immense tent on Madison Street will host over 100 booths, with thousands expected to attend. A baby show, musical revue, and style show are featured, plus auto displays from local dealers. Several hundred exhibitors are preparing elaborate decorations as Lions Club members promote community spirit.

The New Jeanette Apartment Building Opens Soon

Will Lay Cornerstone of New St. John School
The cornerstone for the new St. John School building at 1033 Maren Avenue, erected by St. John’s Lutheran Church, will be laid Saturday at 3 30 o clock with Rev. Marcus Wagner officiating. Attending will include the school board, faculty, and community members as the south side branch nears completion. The school currently operates in a residence on a pile lot with thirty six pupils and rapid progress is expected on the new structure. Chest Drive Meeting for Closing Days
Three meetings of workers for the Community Cheat were held this week at Garfield Field-Stevenson and Grant schools. Speakers explained pledge methods and captains led central and district crews while three driving committees prepared canvassing of factories and businesses. A final workers meeting is planned in the Village Hall Council Room next Friday evening October 13 at 8 o'clock.
