Homer Buckley reports wide enthusiasm for Chicago's centenary celebration among Germans Austrians and French officials. Man Killed in Elgin Funeral Services Here

Henry J. Krueger, killed in Elgin last week Friday in an automobile accident, was buried Monday. Funeral services were held at Zimmerman's undertaking paringy and burial had at Concordia. Krueger, aged about 5 of age, relatives here but home in Chicago. He was driving a Ford truck when it collided with an automobile.

Hudson to Make Talk at Dinner

Mr Hudson of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce will speak at the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce dinner at Community Methodist Church Friday evening October 4. A top speaker in the state, he gave over 100 after dinner talks last year and previously impressed Oak Park Chamber members at its annual meeting.

Royce Parker's Auto Kills An Elderly Chicagoan

A coroner's jury exonerated Royce Parker a traveling salesman of 631 Lathrop avenue after his vehicle struck and killed 80 year old George Biel a rag picker at Warren and Damen avenues in Chicago. Biel lived at 1919 Washington boulevard Parker regretted the accident though he was not at fault as Biel walked into the path of the car without warning.

Fire Chief Loses Siren from Car

Fire Chief John Prices reports the siren from his auto vanished while parked in front of his home on Circle Avenue. The siren cost $40 and could be broken from the mount. He offers a reward for its return to the fire station.

Two Small Fires North of Madison

Two small fires were reported north of Madison. The first occurred Saturday noon in the Calderone Duplex basement on Elgin Avenue, causing little damage. The second fire Thursday forenoon involved an automobile truck on Circle Avenue and Frank Street after the driver bought gasoline. the tank under the hood likely ignited a spark, but an extinguisher helped cut the fire before the department arrived.

Kiwanis Delegates Return From Peoria District Meet

Forest Park Kiwanis Club members returned Wednesday night and Thursday from the Kiwanis International District Convention in Peoria with praise for the parade float designed by Henry Buchtholz which won first honors. Golfers Art Weideman Hill Carlson Fred Becker and Art Bartsch fared well at Pearls Country Club. Governor Howse and International President Horace MacDavid praised Forest Park for sponsoring two new clubs. The group documented a busy program including banquets, theater, sight seeing, and gifts for attendees.

Banking Hours Change Starts October First

For est Park banks announce a hours overhaul starting October 1. The schedule shifts Wednesday closures to afternoons instead of Thursdays and excludes Wednesday evenings. Saturday hours extend from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Eagles Honor Guest at Forest Park Avenue Meeting

James S. Parry grand secretary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles will be guest speaker at Forest Park Avenue meeting next Thursday evening October. State officers will attend with an initiation to be held in the hall at Desplainee Avenue and Randolph Street. The initiatory obligation noted by President Warren G Harding on his 1921 Marion Ohio initiation is described as an expression of highest fraternity and sacred ritual cherished by the order.

Child Study Club Holds First Meeting in Brady

The Brady Child Welfare group met last Tuesday at the Municipal Building under the Forest Park Woman's Club. Mrs. Bertha Mitchcock led a discussion titled "At Your Child for Living" followed by a round table on child problems. November 2 Incinerator Election Date

Village council sets Saturday November 2 for two bond questions on an incinerator. Ordinance reading occurred Monday night and the election will be at the schoolhouses. Over 50 homes have prepaid for garbage service, with more joining daily.

Eighty Guests Attend Surprise Golden Wedding Celebration

Mr. and Mrs. August Hathje of Murengo Avenue celebrated their twenty fifth wedding anniversary with an unexpected party on September 6 at their home, with about eighty guests arriving from Forest Park and Hammond. The couple, married at St John’s Lutheran Church in 1904, have two daughters. A. W. Bathje, principal of St John’s Lutheran School, Hammond, and a granddaughter attended. Music by Robert Hiesenen and a midnight lunch followed the greetings and well wishes for many more years of happiness.

St Peters church plans its annual bazaar on Hannah and Adganse streets with home baked goods candies and hand made items for sale after noon and evening. A hearty supper will be served both days inviting families to enjoy a regular meal that tastes like home.

H W Hanna Dies After Active Life

Harry West Panna former parish commissioner of JF Park died in lashone after a brief illness. He attended a village ball during incinerator discussions, then traveled to Indianapolis on a chess trip where he fell ill. Born May 17, 1845 at Sulphur Springs, he spent his youth in St Louis, married September 2, 1884.

Forest Park honors Mr Hanna with public service legacy

Funeral services for Mr Hanna of Forest Park highlighted a life of public service and business. Survived by widow Mrs Inabel Murdock, son William Murdock, two brothers, a sister, and fourteen grandchildren. He organized the leather departments for Sears Roebuck and Tauning Co and wrote for trade papers. Funeral conducted by LaFayette Tent and KOC. Burial at Mt. Carmel cemetery.

Forest Park Resident Killed in Collision

Forest Park resident Tom Bronshanker killed in a road accident Monday evening in Kano Wisconsin. He was a traveling salesman for Chicago Coke By-Products Co. driving an auto when it collided with a truck. Inquest held in Kano, body then taken to Iowa for burial. He left a wife, no children, and was a veteran.
