High School Opens With Large Freshman Enrollment

The year at Provine High School opened with rough drafts of a long list of freshmen and a large enrollment. Teachers spoke briefly after an assembly, welcoming new students while the faculty introduced themselves and outlined the year’s plans. Music featured organ and piano performances as students entered their new classrooms.

Forest Park Granted Favorable Insurance Rates

Forest Park receives lower insurance rates under a new ruling that eliminates the higher charges for small lots and large lots, with the 25 foot and 450 foot distinctions merged. The town’s water supply uses deep wells and storage reservoirs, average pressure around 40 pounds, and a residential sewer system. Fire protection is adequate with five full-time men and nearby village support. police and telephone systems are functional in a mainly residential village.

New Stop Signs at Jackson Boulevard and Desplaines Ave

New stop signs are tested at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Desplaines Avenue. An experimental device, installed by electrician Mark, operates with traffic signals and may be moved to Audiser and De y for broader testing. Village Official Caught as a Breeder

A village official was arrested during a Michigan tour after an incident with a police officer. Jewish Holidays Next Week Will Close Some Stores

The Jewish New Year will be celebrated Friday to Sunday next week with some Dewhith merchants closing on Friday and Saturday. Special Election to Vote Bonds for South Side School

A special election will be held at the Corner at Chir Reet ued Mibenire ayenin.
