The year at Provine High School opened with rough drafts of a long list of freshmen and a large enrollment. Teachers spoke briefly after an assembly, welcoming new students while the faculty introduced themselves and outlined the year’s plans. Music featured organ and piano performances as students entered their new classrooms.
Forest Park receives lower insurance rates under a new ruling that eliminates the higher charges for small lots and large lots, with the 25 foot and 450 foot distinctions merged. The town’s water supply uses deep wells and storage reservoirs, average pressure around 40 pounds, and a residential sewer system. Fire protection is adequate with five full-time men and nearby village support. police and telephone systems are functional in a mainly residential village.
New stop signs are tested at the intersection of Jackson Boulevard and Desplaines Avenue. The couple planned a home on Rockford Avenue after a trip to Nidgap Falls and Toronto.
Mink Leagan Wagner daughter of Mev. Marcun Wagner of St Juha's Lutheran church and Walter Dreckut of Maywood were married at SS Juha's church Friday evening September 4 at 7 80 o'clock in the presence of the immediate family. Jav Warner father of the bride officiated. A Unner at Oak Vark Anus followed the service and the couple left for an extended tour through the east.
The Jewish New Year will be celebrated Friday to Sunday next week with some Dewhith merchants closing on Friday and Saturday. Agudapa Achln will rent the Transfer block hall at Hurlen and Madi gon for the occasion Canton Zurdakt from Chicago will supervise the exercises. The Jewish New Year is followed by Yom Kippur on September 27 and 28. A number of Jewish people from Guk Murk will not attend the meetings here.
Hunting licenses for the 195-56 season are on sale by Village Clerk Harry Uxhold. Licenses cost 1 and are dated July 1 with a September 1 deadline for hunting. Open season for ducks runs September 16 to December 41, with plover and geese after those dates. prairie chickens curb Nov 10 to 21. quail Nov 10 to Dec 10.
Engineers reported on village sewer needs Monday night as crews surveyed conditions after heavy rain. Protests arose as residents blamed recent public works delays. council planned preliminary steps and a district survey to deter mine plans, with talks to Shattary District and pending paving ordinances for Ford Court.
Eliane Berry five year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank J Berry of Murengo Avenue Farcowly escaped serious injuries after a loaded truck owned by A F Jones of Wallace Avenue Chicago struck her on Tuesday afternoon while she shopped with her mother near Mydlyon Circle. She received treatment at Dr A Moos office and was later moved to her home.
Building commissioner Henry Zahy returned from Michigan with a record breaking radish weighing five pounds and served at The Lodge on Tarsevelt Road. The party included Zola Kia won Charles and family and Buddy and Mrs Tove Radke who toured Alumound Lake where Zahn owned two lots.
A special election will be held at the Corner at Chir Reet ued Mibenire ayenin. Voters decide on bonds to fund a South Side School building costing around 120,000 dollars with repayment from general taxes over 45 years. The new school would serve the area south of Marrivon Street east of Chele Avenue, easing long walks for children to reach the Pud-Brevenkon building.
Madison Street merchants plan an automobile gathering on the evening of September 2 as part of a trade effort. Only patrons of the city are invited, with membership in the Madison Street Merchants Club required for access to display areas.
Obituary items note the death of Peter Gloybehin of Biggin Avenue age about thirty two died after brief illness with services at First Lutheran church and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Also listed is Julius Peters eighty five of Annenheim who died after several days illness with funeral at St Pauls church. Surviving relatives mentioned.

A 25 donation to the nurse’s fund was agreed, and officer nominations are set for October with Miss Evelyn Campbell to oversee activities.
