Olsen Donates Bataan Trophy For Maywood Parade

George C. Olsen a local real estate dealer has donated a large trophy to the Maywood Veterans Council. It will be the first place award for the Most appealing decorative unit in the annual Bataan Day Parade in Maywood on Sunday Sept. 17. Olsen hopes the celebration becomes an annual patriotic affair in cooperation with the 92nd Tank Battalion.

Kerner Signs Expressway Bill Passed

Gay Otto Kerner signed House Bill 93 introduced by State Representative Claude A Walker in the last session. The law requires the Illinois Toll Road Commission to erect intersection signs naming nearby cities and villages and to follow the American Association of State Highway Officials Manual for signing and pavement markings.

Robber Strikes Forest Grill in Early Morning Hold-Up
