Foreman Plat Designed for Apartments
Foreman tract between the elevated railway and Harrison Street is planned for subdivision into residences, including apartments and stores. Village officials expect representatives of Foreman interests to present a plat to register, with streets laid along the railroad and across the tract from Front Hannal to Beloit and possibly on Desplaines.

New Flats Rented as Completed in Forest Park Suburb
New flats at Lehmer and Elgin and the Lande building in Forest Park are rapidly renting. Nie Guardalabone reports about eighteen flats nearly all rented, with one workroom still unfinished. Teengst Reich notes about half a dozen of the Lande flats rented, with others expected by October 15. H G Stewart rents 32 new flats at Adams and Beloit, nineteen of which are rented and ready by October 1. There is a strong influx from Chicago and Cal Park, and agents say housing in Forest Park is in short supply for the growing population.

Mrs. Ernest Schreiber of 217 Elgin Avenue traveled to San Antonio on Wednesday August 24 due to her daughter Mrs. Rolland Alm’s illness. The patient is progressing as well as can be expected after an appendectomy. Mrs. Alm, formerly a Proviso Township High School junior, married in June in an elopement and the couple moved to San Antonio where the groom works for a publishing house.

Westchester Water Main Permit Read by Village Council
A council session devoted much of its time to reading a resolution authorizing Westchester to run a water main through Harrison Street to connect with the Chicago water system. Legal steps and condemnation proceedings will proceed, with Westchester paying 300 for the privilege of laying a 60 inch main. The attorney for Westchester said work would start at once. The appropriation ordinance for next year was passed as previously read. The Trade Union Educational League applied for Altenheim next Sunday and the group was held for investigation by Mayor Gold. The council will travel to Waukegan for a district meeting of Illinois Municipalities with Vice President Dawes, Senator Deneen, and Congressman Rathbone as distinguished guests.

Forest Social club plans a new hall in the Nuccio building at Beloit avenue and Harrison street to be inaugurated next Tuesday with a program and a supply of cats. The Infant Welfare clinic used the hall Monday. The hall, built for the club, sits high above ground with a light basement housing a kitchen and some activities.
St Bernardines Carnival Opens Next Week at School Grounds
St Bernardines carnival starts next Saturday on Harrison Street and Marengo Avenue with Mayor Gold Night opening. Extensive preparations, electric lights, and prize booths display a wide array of items including aluminum ware, blankets, lamps, candy, and dolls. Games, merry go round, and Ferris wheel promise entertainment for all ages. A Cedar Lake lot and a Chevrolet sedan will be awarded as prizes on the final night.

Local Dentist Dr Basil A Legge Dies in Forest Park
Basil A Legge a longtime Forest Park dentist died August 27 after a brief illness. He aged 69, was born in Medickville Ontario, practiced in a building near the former Capitol site, later moved to Forest Park. Funeral services were held at Drechsler's chapel under the Central Order of Eagles with many friends attending.

Mrs Wilhelmina Koch of Chicago died at her son Charles Kochs home in Chicago on Tuesday August 30 1927 after a six week stay here to improve her health She was born February 28 1840 in Mecklenburg Germany and came to America at nineteen She married William Koch fifty one years ago and lived in Chicago All of her time in the country until six weeks ago when heart trouble forced her to give up housekeeping Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by Rev Werfelmann pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chicago She is survived by two sons Charles and Herman and a granddaughter Miss Viela Koch The remains were placed in the Concordia vault awaiting relative burial duties.
