Two Burglars Caught In Trage Bros Basement

Police chased two men after midnight on a reported burglary at Trage Bros Appliances 7440 Madison. Jim Dozier Melrose Park and Jim Stebenthal Oak Park were found hiding in the basement armed with burglary tools. Dozier linked to Kniep Meat Co. robbery.

Vet's Day Dance At Legion Hall

The annual Vet's Day Dance, jointly sponsored by the Legion Post and Auxiliary, will be held November 9 at the American Legion Hall, 500 Circle. Jack Martin and his orchestra will provide music, and tickets are priced at $1.00.

Proviso 209 Honors Teachers For 25 Years Service

Nine Proviso district teachers were honored for 25 years of service at a faculty dinner on October 22 at Proviso. Guests included Fearle Betts home economics Helen Harris English Charles Moore speech correction Loren Reynard commercial Misa Viola Scala languages Alvin Volk English and Mary West social studies with Loren Reynard named again.

Recreation Cagers Forming Tuesday Meeting Note

A meeting for all teams interested in the Recreation Basketball League is set for Tuesday at 7 30 pm in the Village Hall. Plans include Jr. B division for freshmen and sophomores Jr A for high school juniors and seniors and a senior division for men and post high school players. First Polio Oral Vaccine Is Saturday

Enthusiastic volunteers including physicians nurses druggists scouts PTA representatives and civic groups prepare to administer the first dose of oral polio vaccine at the Park Building this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Subsequent doses are scheduled for December 7 and January 12. The vaccine costs 25 cents per dose and is open to all ages with no one refused if they cannot donate.

Teen Dating Talk Planned At St Bernardine’s

St Bernardine’s hosts the third Code for Parents of Teen Agers session on Teen Age Dating. Father Tuita, with Dana Conference experience, will speak. about 400 or 500 people are expected for the November 6 meeting at 8 p m.

The PTA Council of Forest Park School asks citizens to observe hours from 3 30 to 6 p m on Thursday October 31 for Trick or Treat. The council notes past strong cooperation from residents.
