Mr and Mrs Win Burclatt and daughter Evelyn and Mr and Mrs J S Amy of 427 Beloit street returned Saturday from a two weeks motor trip to Lawton Oklahoma to visit Mrs Burclatt s sister Mrs John Micling a former Forest Park resident. They toured Medicine Hat Fort Sill and the Indian hospital and spent a day at Wichita Falls Texas. The party found roads especially bad in the south due to floods and were towed out of mud holes twice. They traveled in a Hudson coach.

Miss Gertrude Kroeger of 1435 Harlem Avenue led the operation branch girls of Hawthorne Works Eastern Electric in winning the second annual all women horseshoe pitching tournament. Seventy girls competed, with the event conducted over nearly three weeks due to the large field.

Tire theft shocks Oak Park owner near Harlem
A man found a brick jacked rear of his car at Franklin near Harlem Monday. The outer rear tire had been removed and the car fell when the owner tried to start it, injuring him. Local reports note several tire thefts in Oak Park recently.

Robbers entered J L Chipsa and Son’s at 7207 Roosevelt Road shortly after opening Monday, pistol whipped proprietor Chiupsa and took about 450 dollars. They tied his hands, escaped, and fled before police or witnesses could spot them. A girl with a ten dollar bill was in the store, which attracted attention before the robbery became clear.

Obituary of Lillian Helen Lewin Foret Park resident dies at 21
Lillian Helen Lewin twenty one year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Preston Lewin of 435 Ferdinand avenue died October 8 1927 after long illness from St Vitus dance. The Forest Park family lived there fifteen years. Funeral services were held at Hlatters chapel and interment followed at Irving Park boulevard cemetery. She was survived only by her parents with no other children. Engagement announced linking Lrwin Raditz and Hin ae Hopperstad.
