The Proviso Republican Women's Organization schedules a meet your candidates dinner on Wednesday Oct 9 at Verdeta's Supper Club Hillside. Velvet Curtain movie to thrill patriotic Republicans

After dinner a 20 minute film titled The Velvet Curtain will play to chill and motivate loyal Republicans. Dancing will follow. A Fraviso Organization group attended Tonella's Days at the LaSalle Hotel with a luncheon honoring Mrs Everett Dirkson. Guests included Mrs Spiro Agnew and her daughters Pamela and Susan.

Local Boy on College Team Roy Heinrich at Augustana College

Roy Heinrich, freshman tackle on Augustana College football team in Rock Island, son of Mr and Mrs Elroy E Heinrich of Marengo, graduated from Walther Lutheran High School with all-conference honors. Team holds 1-1 season, 1-0 in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, hosting rival Illinois Wesleyan University at Ericson Field in Rock Island on Saturday September 28.
