Citizens form Friends of Park to aid Forest Park
The Steering Committee urges Forest Park residents to create a Friends of the Park group to help the Park Board out of debt and preserve the 15 1/4 acre park. They warn the land and facilities deteriorate and oppose more parking lot encroachment. The group seeks broad community involvement and invites attendance at the Oct 14 Park Board meeting.

Louis Castellani of White Way Foods Beloit and Harvard pursued and helped capture two youths suspected of stealing from the White Way Foods store. Polls Open Tuesday for Registration
The 18 polling places in Forest Park will be open next Tuesday for the registration of new voters. A citizen must be 21, a state resident for one year, county residency 90 days, and precinct residency 30 days. Voting hours are 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Village Clerk Charles Meseke said registration is heavy as voters prepare for the November 3 presidential election.
