Proviso PTA Plans Varied Program for December 7
The Proviso PTA will hold a Thursday evening meeting December 7 at 8 o'clock. Teachers will be in rooms near the auditorium from 7 to 2 for tallies. Mrs James S Blair will explain the new Girl Scout setup. Mrs A T Harding has arranged an engaging program including community singing led by Robee Os Burns and the high school band under J Irving Talmadge. Superintendent Sifert will address Getting Money's Worth in Education. Members will enroll for PTA. A social hour with refreshments will follow hosted by Mrs Montgomery and committee.

Mother of Mayor Collis Dies at Home
Mrs. Clara Laura Hoffman Collis wife of Thomas Collis Sr and mother of Mayor Tom Collis Jr died at her home Saturday morning November 25 after a long illness. Born September 28 1866 in Johnstown she and Thomas Collis married in 1903 later moving via Chicago to 3 Nantop Avenue where they resided. She leaves a husband two sons Mayor Collis and John R two daughters Doris and Marie Stange two sisters and three brothers and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted by Dr Lon Wallace Gade at Zimmermans chapel with many village officials in attendance.

Eight Year Old Catherine Lambke Dies Suddenly
Catherine Fermidette Lambke eight daughter of Mr and Mrs Herman Lambke of 946 Marengo avenue died November 26 at Oak Park hospital after a few days illness from ruptured appendix. She was in second grade at St Bernardine's school born in Mi est Park and sister to Margaret Elizabeth Elenore Henry and Mary with the late Elizabeth and Henry Lambke. Funeral services were held from the home on Marengo avenue to St Bernardine's church with interment at Cal Carmel.
