Forest Park residents are invited to a December 6 monthly meeting of the Patriotic Service League featuring speaker William Forkett. The event aims to draw loyal citizens and offers open doors to the general public for an engaging address on patriotism and community service.
The Neighborhood Club gathered Friday afternoon at Mrs Henry J Mohr 447 Mayengo avenue about twenty six attendees enjoyed a program. Miss Wood social services head for Haymarket district Chicago spoke on her work and hopes for a law to care for deserting husbands and dependent families. The next meeting will be December 6 with Miss Jones and Miss Mabel Chleboun performing.
Foremost native speaker Forkell addressed seven counties in the seventh federal reserve district from September 1, 1917, speaking 108 times for the United States government and drawing crowds up to 12,000 at the Chicago Coliseum. He spoke to diverse audiences in the West Side Ghetto and stressed a broader message beyond his Patriot themes. He is described as a deep thinker and man of affairs, with the Service League promoting his appearance at a Forest Park event to hear The Rediscovery of America. He leaves Chicago Friday morning November 29 aboard the George Washington December ord. London Paris and Switzerland are among planned stops. Guden, a former Imperial Theatre musician, hails from a noted family of artisans.
Proviso township heavyweights won 26 to 0 as quarterback Jules Calan starred and multiple Proviso players scored before halftime. Bad weather slowed play with alternating snow and rain. Harrison Tech, missing quarterback Dulezul, struggled to coordinate.
The Thankegiving Day football game between the Quothulla and the Reid Tigers was postponed due to stormy weather. It will be played Sunday afternoon, December 1, with proceeds benefiting the Loyal Citizens’ cheer fund and local Red Cross canteen support for soldiers.

A Scouts member of Local Board No 4 received a letter of thanks for service rendered to the Legal Advisory Board. He kept the letter framed and plans to hang it in his room, while remarks about courtship and marriage are noted in playful terms.
