Readers and teachers document Book Week activities at Betsy Ross and Field Ste venson schools. Students in first through seventh grade compile booklets, posters, and reports, with honors lists, reading goals, and illustrated displays while Armistice Day observances and health education slides accompany classroom programs.
The GA class II presented Dick's Dream Friday afternoon featuring Nick Wootrow Schnell and a cast including Queenie Taylor and Robert Griesmeyer to spark reading interest. Armistice Day activities marked Book Week with posters, readings, essays, poems, and class projects, and students noted progress on a doll house project and classroom hygiene subjects.
Garfield School notes show the Garfield Parent-Teacher Association will meet on Tuesday November 20 with members urged to arrive at ten. A library period in class 6A this week aims to spark interest in books. Pupils produced posters and maps about Italy the Mediterranean and the Pilgrims. Richard Lande secured pictures from the public library. Several students earned 100 percent in spelling this past week and the 1A class plans an upcoming visit.
Frederick J. Schnell pastor of Community Methodist Church Forest Park invites all to worship at 11 A M with a debut senior choir. Rehearsals Thursdays 8 P M under director Crossley and organist Mrs Riner. Sunday evening forum speaker Burke Adams of Chicago St James. Epworth League events include hike and breakfast Thanksgiving morning. Women’s Aid bazaar November 21. New member class November 25.
