Mrs Carney long time pioneer resident of Forest Park died Tuesday morning November 12 1420 at her home she came to Chicago in 676 married Peter Carney the second. Survived by daughter Miny Mainiv and son William five other relatives. Funeral services held Friday at St Hers Inardine church, Rev Otte Nabethol. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.

The Wextark Company announced a new Forest Park branch at McLellan Building on Madison Street. Management planned a festive opening November 27 with decor, radio speakers, free gifts, and demonstrations of Crosley and Columbia products.
Sealed bids in the Proviso High district awarded eighteen contracts, with Harvey A. Hanson winning the Mary and Carpenter project for 488 6d and Facuioid receiving 2.55 for chear work. The Mississippi Valley Structural at Melrose Park to furnish area work for 47,500, and Community Phabids Co. of Chicago securing plumbing at 50,000. Two more contracts pending, bids reviewed in front of board members and architect Lewellyn.
Madison street from the western fringe of Forest Park to First avenue in Maywood is set for opening next week. The road runs 610 feet in length with four lanes formed by car lanes and a 24 foot wide sidewalk split by a central track. A short unpaved stretch near the Maywood armory remains until tax funds for road work are available, but will not hinder traffic on the new street.
Miss Lydia Malai chosen from forty two contestants in the Chicago Civic Opera competition ends with her winning the prize and leaving for Europe. She will study in Milan for several months before moving to Paris and Roselle, New Jersey, with her family in transit to join her companion in the east next week.
The contest at the Civic Opera auditorium November 4 named ninety contestants for a one year scholarship in Tealy. Final selections included Micy Mila and Mine Chast as scholarship duties, with judges Herbert M. Jotiisai and Georgia Malacca noting qualifications and the final audience witnessing the selection process.
The Young Peoples society of St John Evangelical Lutheran church will stage their annual play, What Ann Brought to Me, for three nights next week in the assembly hall on Washington Street near Circle Avenue. Lead roles are Henry Busse and Louise Angers. Warrington Theater’s Kora aids in coaching. A comedy with divine in the east.
