Kiwanis Observe Education Week With Program
Kiwanis club of Forest Park observed Education Week at a regular meeting last Tuesday evening. Emery Parichy arranged the program featuring John Logan, a Proviso High School student, on the value of education in fostering a positive attitude toward peace. The club issued a quarterly bulletin to inform Forest Park citizens about school purposes and conditions. Officers elected for the ensuing year were Fred Roos, president. Ray Warnecke, vice president. Emil Roehlke, treasurer. and Fred W. Licht and Fred Becker, directors. A sax quartet from Proviso Orchestra performed, including Anchors Aweigh. Art Weidemann, a long-time Kiwanian, recounted his Chicago/Woodside roots, wartime service, and career, ending with his return to Forest Park and long association with local dairy and distribution work.
