Retail merchants to conserve labor large. Death toll during past week Americk bt Peter Heerick St Peter died of pneumonia after a short illness. He was stricken at Berger's print shop and died October 24. His wife, careworn and ill, is recovering at her parents home in Chicago. Son Leonard is listed, married to Miss Kelley fifteen years ago. He worked twenty years at Oak Park State Bank and was highly respected. Funeral services at St Bernardine’s church. Interment at Mt Carmel. Mary Mitard, wife of Arthur Hillard, died October 27 after influenza while caring for him on the way to recovery. Her husband and family mourn. services held November 3 with interment at local cemetery.

Ernest Lange Dies at 80 in Forest Park
Ernest Lange of Forest Park died at his home on Friday October 26 at age 80. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at his residence with many pioneers in attendance. The Rev Marcus Wagner officiated. Lange, a longtime St John Lutheran church member, is survived by two sons Henry and Emil two daughters Mrs Poulivy Muthaws and Mrs Sophie Zimuertuan, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Interment at Concordia.
