Memorial Day Parade And Services In Forest Park
The Forest Park American Legion and VFW posts sponsor a Memorial Day parade starting 1 p.m. from Iron Circle and Randolph and ending at Village Park after route through several streets. Marching units include Civil Air Patrol, Sea Scout Ship 100, Girl and Boy Scouts, Little League, drum corps, and school bands. Services at Village Park 2 p.m. with Rev. R W Roth giving the invocation and benediction. Major Joseph G Doser to deliver the Address of the Day and a salute by the Honor Guard to departed comrades. Everyone invited.

Teens Seek Curfew Extension At Summer Park Gatherings
A group of local teens led by 17 year old Frank Rollins urged lifting the 10 30 p m curfew in the Park for summer. Mayor Howard Mohr and Police Chief Elmer Schnurstein urged respect for the current limit and suggested summer jobs and study. The officials asked for parental cooperation and considered weekly summer dances if responsibly run.

Wounded Viet Nam Soldier John Rosewell Back Home
Pfc. John Rosewell son of Mr and Mrs Raymond E Rosewell of 909 Lathrop was wounded in Vietnam on May 16 by a land mine booby trap. He sustained wounds to both legs while on combat operations.

Statue Dedication At St John Lutheran Church
St John Lutheran Church at 305 Circle will dedicate a 9 foot granite statue titled Christ of the Children during the 10:45 morning service. Ernest Schwidder of Edmonds designed the statue and Rock of Ages Corp. of Barre carved it. The piece honors Lois Marie Paul and Robert Shawn Hauser. The church school serves K through 8 with 360 pupils. principal is Donald Behnken.

John M Hemstreet son of Mr and Mrs John J Hemstreet of 7516 Brown serves with the Special Landing Force of the 7th Fleet as a member of Battalion Landing Team 1 5 The unit completed Operation Osage in the Phu Loc area and took part in Operation Jack Bray becoming the first U S unit to oppose the Viet Cong in the Mekong Delta.
