WIND radio will air 30 broadcasts May 21 to 27 highlighting Forest Park history, progress and goals. Seven town leaders including Mayor William Meyer Chief of Police Joseph Cortina and Superintendent Robert Pruitt will report on civic culture and industry with live tributes from Howard Miller and Dick Williamson.

Ground Breaking Planned for Forest Park Moose Lodge Home
Ground breaking is set for Sunday May 20 at 1 30 p m at Deaplaines and Harrison for the Forest Park Moose Lodge Home to replace the previous building destroyed by fire last July 27 The new one story brick structure with a partial basement will include a 4000 square foot main hall and several smaller rooms a kitchen and offices It will serve the Moose Lodge Auxiliary Sea Scout Ship Wasp and other groups with entrances on Desplaines Ave and the south parking lot The project is led by General Contractor M Heeg and Son of Forest Park with architect Stanley K DeFurcalski of Chicago The building is scheduled for completion in early fall

Two portable TV sets were stolen in a smash and grab burglary at Trage Bros Appliances. A brick shattered the display window at 2:30 a.m. after a police car had passed by, with no nearby residents hearing the incident before a passerby alerted police.

Fireman Hurt As Tree Limb Slips During Rescue
Fireman Ray Weatherford of 622 Marengo sustained rope burns and a bruised thigh Saturday while other firefighters removed a large tree limb leaning against a house at 632 Elgin. Weatherford was holding a rope when the limb slipped, causing the injuries.
