Joly D V Shoop, superintendent of schools, led the flag raising for an elevated road ceremony here. Hundreds witnessed the event despite rain, with the Elevated Company band, vocal selections, and remarks from officials of the road and city.
Mrs Chartes Anderson hosted a birthday shower for Mim Mae Ibach at 2001 Reigin Avenue. The event honored Mim Mae Ibach who will wed Hylmer Sackerson in June. Guests included many locals and the hosts gifted lovely items for the bride to be.
A daily market guide issued by the U S Bureau of Markets helps Forest Park residents buy vegetables and fruits more intelligently. It prices items by daily supply, urges selective shopping to stretch dollars, and informs on retail costs, shrinkage, and handling. Copies will be distributed at local stores and community events.
Captain Hotty, ex Chicago instructor at Camp Bowie Texas, spoke to Stevens on duty at the Stevens non rdool about thrift stamp and red cross work. He praised teachers and pupils and urged continued effort while noting his daughter Mary Allee attends Stevenson School.

Recording secretary P J Challfoux and Er Boro. financial secretary Clarence Hosfer. treasurer Fred Wiebers. marshal Fred Licht. board of managers Eric Carada Walter Young Charles Behnix BM Hoffman nominated.
The Camp Fire Girls from both camps gathered at Mrs. Autter's home on Wednesday afternoon May 11 to learn about the upcoming Centennial Exhibition on May 11 at the Auditorium. Miss Holbrook and her assistant explained the roles and the girls practiced at the Auditorium on May 4 and look forward to the event. Tyega camp plans a ceremonial meeting May 8 and Thorney plans May 9 practice at Mrs. Haeger's home.
A post nuptial gathering Saturday evening May 4 hosted by Mr and Mrs A Meseke and Mr and Mrs Arthur Myvaeke Rigio. Guests from St John’s Boneran church attended with partners. bunco and late refreshments followed. Menu included sandwiches pickles cake ice cream and coffee. Nut baskets in white and yellow were favors. Lucy Priva and Fred Tablenert led piano selections as guests socialized and danced. Prizes awarded to Irma Kun Eisie Roehike Cora Joncko and Ed Berlin Bred Nall Will Stettenhagen. Attendees included Walter Grottke Ex Rohlika Agguat Kleemann Fred Rall Ed Bertin Lehrer Mundt Fred Steffenhagen William Jeffenhagen Marshall Thorson Charles Dilocker and many others. Hosts recently married received cut glass water set as a gift.
Proviso High School staged a vibrant production in the auditorium and balcony packed to capacity on Premium Friday evening. Four Forest Park youths filled key roles with solid performances and the Duke of Tyrty was praised for an admirable turn. The Maywood cast members and school orchestra earned applause for contributing to a successful night of entertainment and school pride.
Slim Martin was cleared after a confrontation with Oak Park police officer Edward Brown. Brown remains hospitalized with injuries from a shooting the previous week. Surgeons said the operation went successfully and Brown will recover slowly. The trial may be postponed if Brown is unable to appear. Martin returns to duties while the case proceeds.
Forest Park delegates, led by Mrs Langworthy, will attend the Sinota Con grens of Mothers and Parent-Teacher associations in Aurora May 14 to 16. Mrs Micnie Chieboune, Mrs Beasley Roos, and Mrs Edith Hellennan represent the Forest Park PTA, with the Library Board also planning attendance. Train from Chicago at 10:00, arriving 11:28 a.m. Public invited.
