Ratajak Fights Move For Branch Banks In Illinois
Ray Ratajak, president of Forest Park National Bank, denounces branch banking as monopolistic and traces opposition to a 1900s style bill backed by Chicago banks. The Illinois Bankers Assn says the General Assembly will reject branch banking despite pressures. The IBA dismisses a city limit proviso as a ploy to split small banks and maintain public interest. Field Stevenson P T A will hold its final meeting of the year Tuesday at 8 pm in the school cafeteria with officer elections and a short skit. Frank Carroll will present the Chi-Guard program and a decision will be made on adoption. Boy Scouts of Troop 105 will present colors and a social with refreshments will follow.
