Headquarters are in Capitol Building Forest Park with branches in Maywood Melrose Park and Brookfield. Mandamus Suit Is Continued for Week at Request of Meyer
The village hearing on the mandamus case brought by Joslyn Manufacturing Co. to compel the building commission to grant permission to erect a building in their pole yard along the Central right of way was postponed for a week at the request of Attorney Walter W. L. Meyer. Meyer said Judge Bullivan granted time to reply to the Joslyn brief, with more time to follow if needed. The meeting also discussed Ernest Gresnory Smith’s riding academy proposal, a Koreat Park post Fourth of July carnival permit, and a dog license ordinance requiring tags, fees, and yearly vaccination. The village board passed improvements measures, and inspected a new well reportedly reaching 660 feet, along with reservoir work.

Bellwoop Man Hits Train With Auto Early Sunday
Emil Besle of Bellewood drove a Cadillac touring car into a Deaplaines avenue third rail barrier on Sunday at 1 50 am. The gates were down then raised as Besle approached at high speed. Two young ladies believed to be sisters and another young man accompanied him. All were bruised and the car was badly damaged requiring towing to Bellwood. One woman was taken to Oak Park hospital with a broken shoulder.
