The Forest Park Women’s Club holds its Annual DayTuesday at 11 a.m. in the Park Building with a 12 30 p.m. luncheon. The program Aprons on Parade by Mrs Emil Haug features aprons from many countries with stories and music. Call hostesses for details and invitees. The annual Spring luncheon has been moved to April 23.
The St. John P T L plans a March 18 meeting at 7 30 p m featuring a light humor show with Christian themes performed by PTL members and pru denta The play Let Your Light So Shine is directed by Grace Hollander and features Will Streich Mrs Gerhard Becker Fred Schaap Judy Wilson and Billy Cleaver
Comm. Harry Blue demands state change to require proper Harlem avenue lighting. Officials argue state responsibility is only for road surface and signals. Forest Park proposed using motor fuel tax funds for lighting as Blue presses press coverage.
The Women of the Moose present Accent on Spring a fashion show on Wednesday March 20 at 8 p.m. at Moose Home 810 Deaplalnes. Prizes and refreshments available tickets $1 at the door or by calling Eva Murray or Joyce Trezise. Fashion by Madlyn's with Micklag fur.
Andy Bauer of 1217 Elgin seeks Park Commissioner in the April 2 election. He has six years of involvement in local recreation, managed softball teams, coached the Moose Pony League championship team in 1962, and is president of Marko Construction Co.
The public schools present the Junior Band under Ronald Miethe with 60 members and the Junior Chorus directed by Misa Loretta Guelig, totaling about 100 fifth and sixth graders. The concert is March 22 at Field-Stevenson auditorium. Tickets at the door cost 50 cents for high school students and adults, 25 cents for grade school children.
Chamber of Commerce directors condemn rising door to door solicitors. At Monday’s meeting President Jim Dale urged merchants to demand a Chamber permit for protection. Permits, if approved, are prepared by secretary Lerrayne Wick of Madison.
An open meeting of the River Edge Hospital Auxiliary will be held at the hospital next Tuesday at 8 p.m. Local women are invited to the frat floor day room to get acquainted.
