Curfew Tightened for Teens Under 17 by Village Council
The village imposes a 10 30 p m weekday curfew for residents under 17 with 11 30 p m on Fridays and Saturdays. Police gain enforcement power while parents who allow breaches are liable. first offenders are warned, second offenses carry fines from 5 to 100 dollars. exceptions apply for youths with parents after curfew.

Burglaries Strike Two Local Homes. Loot Exceeds $1,000
Burglars struck in two Friday incidents netting more than $1,000 in cash and goods. At Florericio Duran’s apartment on Roosevelt a rear door was pried and currency TV set and jewelry valued at 770 dollars were taken. A Beloit Street residence reported the loss of a typewriter camera watch clothing and four trading stamp books. A separate late night hold up occurred at the DeLuxe Grill at 4 am with a gun pointed and a bag taken for gas money.
