Warn System for Disaster Installed
Chief John Tobin announces Operation WARN a weather alert network for Proviso area residents and businesses. The system uses Motorola receivers in schools stores and homes to broadcast voice alerts on a special public safety FM frequency and to coordinate with county WARN systems and the U.S. Weather Bureau. Residents are urged to call 366-2425 if a potential disaster is spotted.
