Nearly forty members attended as Jah Hynes head chemist for the United States customs in Chicago gave an instructive address on classification of imported merchandise and the work of his department. Members discussed forming a glass insurance club to cover plate glass owned by members, aiming for cheaper coverage without incorporation.

Forest Park Singers Meet at North American Musical Gathering
Forest Park is represented by about 100 singers at the North American Suenges Hundt in Chicago this week. Several hundred residents attended afternoon and evening programs as choirs from Harlem Maennerchor St Johns Meos and Harmonie Singing Society joined in. The St Johns Sunday school group was chauffeured by the church, while the Chicago Symphony Orchestra led 2,700 voices in the principal men’s choir program.

The Windlog at T4459 Mauldon Street, once a roadhouse later known as Mnowe boll, sold to Alexander W. Goodwin of Oak Park for 32000. The two story building, fifty plus years old, has a storied past from Henry Lange to Tonry Licht, with sheds and yards used by farmers and cemetery visitors. The Loyal Order of Moose owned it eight years ago, remodeling for lodge use before selling it again.

Foreman Grants Permit for Beloit Legion Carnival
Foreman approves a Fourth of July carnival on Harrion Street between Beloit and Thomas avenues from June 28 to July 6. Grade Graduation Held at Proviso High School
Commencement exercises for the eighth grades of Porest Park public schools were held at Proviso High School Tuesday evening with hundreds attending. Grant School Wins Flag Day Program for Forest Park
Grant School carried off the honors for Forest Park in a flag day program contest under the Oak Park Elk Club. Competing were Forest Park’s three public schools. A May program led to the winning school announced last Friday. The winning program featured recitations songs and essays about the flag and national history, with twenty minutes of performances to be presented at the Elk Club this evening with neighboring towns participating.

Huge boulder to form World War memorial in Forest Park
Mayor Keul presided as a ten ton red granite boulder was laid on a forested mound south of the Municipal Building for a World War Memorial. Kiwanis leader Walter Meyer and sculptor Christian Abrahamson joined donors Kurt Berliner and Otto Reich in unveiling plans and landscaping by 8 Lallesgard.
