Michael J. Lambke of 544 Circle is shown receiving a Kentucky Colonel commission from Governor Wendell H. Ford on May 3. The honor parallels elite national standing and carries duties and privileges. Lambke, Forest Park village commissioner for 16 years, did not seek reelection in 1971.
The Forest Park Chamber of Commerce hosted a four week driving school at the American Legion Hall donated by Post 414. Trooper Osborn A. Curtis of the Illinois State Police led the first class with a mix of defensive driving instruction and humor. Attendance opened with 48 participants last Wednesday and the sessions continue for three more Wednesdays.
