Forest Park village considers banning overnight parking on all streets. Mayor Meyer asks Chief Cortino to survey off street space, including garages, to fit nearly 5,000 village cars. Officials cite snow removal safety and quicker emergency vehicle access as reasons for the plan.
Forest Park's annual school picnic at Village Park will be held Tuesday August 20 as part of Community Festival Days in the Park. The Carnival committee shares half the cost with the Forest Park Chamber of Commerce, a change from prior years. Tickets for rides and refreshments are being distributed through schools.
Forest Park children will have a supervised summer program June 17 to August 23 daily 9 to 5 with games crafts and awards. A baseball school runs Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Main Park diamond and a Tennis Clinic August 5 to 23 daily 9 to 5. Group trips to Wrigley Field Comiskey Park Hawthorne Melody Farm and Zoo are planned with awards for tournament winners in several games.
