Stroschein Retires From Standard Oil After 39 Years
George Stroschein of 1034 Thomas retires after 39 years with Standard Oil Co. He began at Oak Park Dusk plant, moved to La Grange, and spent the last decade at the Chicago Terminal on 4811 So. Harlem. A retirement banquet in Chicago on June 12 honored him with gifts. He now enjoys a welcome rest and plans for the future are undecided.

Outdoor Services Begin Sunday At Beloit Village Park
For the 28th year St. John Lutheran Church sponsors four Outdoor Services in Village Park Beloit and Harrison starting at 7 Sunday. Rev. Erwin L. Paul of St. John delivers the first message titled The Waiting Father with the theme How Is God. Open to the public with park bench seating and optional blankets.
