German American Picnic At West Forest Preserves

The West Side branch of the German American National Congress hosts its annual Basket Picnic Sunday in Lake Avenue Woods at West Forest Preserves near Desplaines Euclid on Route 45. The event runs all day from 10 am with entertainment games and refreshments at minimal cost. children under a certain age receive free soft drinks and ice cream. Karl Kuhn's Orchestra will provide music.

Board to Review 1965-66 Budget at Special Meeting

A Special meeting of the Board of Education will be held Friday Aug 6 at 815 p.m. in the Field Stevenson School offices to review the Proposed Budget for the 1965-66 school year and the levies for the 1965 tax year. All citizens are invited.

Chamber President Bud Fredrickson hype notes prizes pouring in for Forest Park Golf Outing with a “prize for everyone” theme. The event is Wednesday July 28 at Midwest Country Club with tickets 12.50 including golf and sirloin steak dinner. Tickets available at the Chamber Office or from Lions and Kiwanis officials and event coordinators Mike Walker and Ed Huebner of George Olsen's.

80th Birthday for Mrs Minne Schliske Celebrated in Westchester

Mrs Minne Schliske aged 80 celebrated at her daughter Mrs Adolph Steller's home in Westchester. The former Forest Park resident for 53 years moved to Maywood with her daughter Mrs George Eggersdorf. She has another daughter Mrs Lydia Amundson in Forest Park and received many well wishes from local friends and relatives.

Moose Picnic at Altenheim Sunday

The Forest Park Moose announce their 14th annual picnic at Altenheim Grove this Sunday. A full day program for members and families includes hourly prize drawings starting at 1:00 and activities for youngsters with accompanying adults.

Proviso School Nursing Students Enter Clinical Phase

Thirty four students from the Proviso School of Practical Nursing advance to clinical experience after completing 34 hours of introductory hospital work. Pictured are Mrs. Ida Hanson, Forest Park. The Catholic Order of Foresters hosts its 39th annual Family Picnic at National Grove 1 in Nort Riverside on Sunday with a full program of music games and races for all ages.
