Oktoberfest moves to Naval Reserve parking lot in Forest Park
Forest Park will host Oktoberfest 77 in the U S Naval Reserve Station parking area at 7410 Roosevelt Rd on Sept 30 Oct 1 and 2. Festival president Jim McCoy says the site offers ample enclosed space and less proximity to residential areas. Publicity chair Gerry Bruhn notes 23 local non profit organizations have signed on to run concessions and games to fund local projects.

Teens Sponsor Car Wash At Community Center
The Teen Advisory Board of the Howard R. Moher Community Center will sponsor a car wash this Saturday July 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot near Jackson and Desplaines. Cost is 1 dollar for cars 1.50 for vans. Teens may call 771-7737 to sign up to help.

Man jumps from overpass onto expressway in Desplaines incident
Berwyn man Donald Klein, 45, remains in critical condition at Loyola Medical Center Maywood after jumping from the Desplaines Ave overpass onto the Eisenhower Expressway Sunday evening. Police say he parked on the bridge, activated his car lights, and leapt over the edge. he suffered multiple broken bones and was not struck by traffic.
