Forest Park hosts the Swimming Pool Operators Meeting of the Illinois Department of Public Health on June 26 with about 200 operators managers and administrators in attendance. Experts spoke on chlorinators pumps aquatic safety and filters as Lorentz Kaercher Park Board president opened the event. Guests toured facilities and enjoyed luncheon.

Three Youngsters Return Purse With $900 Reward Won
Ruth Johnson misplaced her purse in a Beloit grocery cart and drove away. Within minutes three Cox brothers and their father returned the purse containing $900 in cash and checks, after locating it at the police station and presenting it. Johnson rewarded the trio.
