Elroy E. Heinrich and Jos. Karner district representatives for Aid Assoc for Lutherans attended the 1965 President's Club sales conference at the Americana Hotel in New York City from June 24 to 26.
The regular Board of Education meeting, moved from July 9 to July 16 due to summer schedules, will convene at 8 15 pm in the Board Office at Field Stevenson School 925 Beloit.
The State Department of Revenue lists shares of sales tax returned to Forest Park for February 17 971 dollars March 20 872 dollars and April 19 081 dollars.
Isabel Barry kindergarten teacher at St Bernardine School was chosen as one of three education specialists for Operation Headstart, a War on Poverty program. The 12 day Loyola University course trained certified teachers in preschool instruction. Barry studied at Chicago Teachers College Pestalozzi Froebel and Columbia School of Speech and directs Barble B Playschool in Forest Park. She also leads the South Chicago Settlement House and belongs to the National Kindergarten Association.
On Wednesday July 14 the Garden Club of Forest Park hosts a patio party at Mrs. Martin Weiss 612 Marengo. Luncheon at 1 with Mrs. Weiss as hostess and Mrs. Holmes president co host. A short meeting and social hour with violets on display followed by a surplus plant exchange.
A bronze plaque honoring the late Jloward Sammon will be prepared and affixed to the Forest Park National Bank building. Ed Miklas, former Forest Park Chamber of Commerce president, chairs the committee to memorialize Sammon, founder of the tank, with plans for engraving and installation soon.
Triton College Board reports rising pre registration and surging high school graduate numbers from 10 district high schools. President Zeitlin cites potential growth to 1000 plus registrants before September and plans to expand capacity from 2500 to 3000 full time students.
