Two West Town business men proceed with erecting two two story brick homes in the west part of town ILFF Caelson cashier of Mar Jem State Savings bank at 735 Munroestr and William Ber hier of the Berhner Monument Co at 7052 Wilcox street plan colonial and Finnish style. Carlson home by George W. Bond contractor. Berwyn builder H Meinecke handles the Berner home with F Dvorak planning for Mr Bertines. Dvorak, noted Chicago Daily News prize winner for small plant plans. Berliner houses sit four doors west of Mrs Berliner’s parents home Joyauz.
The council approved a July 4 picnic at Altenheim Grove and delayed a July 8 request due to unclear participant identities. St Bernardines Parish Club received permission for a carnival on Elgin Avenue and Harrison Street from August 30 to September ? Forest Social Club carnival dates were revised to July 16. Mayor Gold confirmed H F Carlson of Harlem State Savings Bank to the police pension board.
Forest Park Kiwanis Club invites members and their ladies to a Tuesday gathering at the usual meeting place. Delegates A. K. Weldeman and H. H. Hann, fresh from the Seattle Kiwanis convention, will report on actions. The dinner and business session are expected to draw a large attendance.
The village board approved paving plans for Madison Street west from Lathrop Avenue and, with state aid, will pave the north half toward River Forest. A storm sewer project on Forest Park side and new sidewalks on Circle, Marema, Elgin, and Harlow avenues were also approved, with no public hearing for sidewalks.
A party from Forest Park left Tuesday for Germany sailing from New York and traveling via Bremen to Berlin Dresden Nuremberg and Wien for the Singerfest. Emil Berhold coordinated finances with a Chicago committee and accompanied the party alongside numerous Schwab and Zimmer relatives.
Harlem State Savings cashier H. B. Carlson found a fat bullet on the rear floor of his Jackson Boulevard car after a Fourth of July stray shot pierced the rear window. The shot, likely from an overzealous patriot, left no one in the vehicle and remains a mystery.
