Elgin Avenue Traffic Hazard Discussed by Village Council

The village council met Monday to address Elgin Avenue traffic congestion linked to Harlem. Ted Taphorn urged a stop sign at Elgin and Dixon to slow speeds, while Mayor Meyer favored enforcement. The Safety Commission member attendance was questioned, and the street sweeper operation was hampered by parked cars.

Local man suffers head injury at business premises

Gus Theodosakis of 1443 Bohnie Brae River Forest proprietor of the Terminal at Desplaines avenue and the L suffered head lacerations after slipping while stopping his car from rolling backward on an incline He was taken to Oak Park hospital by local police and treated then sent home

Forest Theatre to Stay Open Amid Summer Renovations

Pete Nicholas owner of the Forest Theatre announced this week that the theatre will not close this summer during extensive alteration work. Repairs and air conditioning will be done in the mornings and shows will go on as usual.

Opened Forest Park Insurance Office by State Farm Agent

A representative of State Farm Mutual Insurance opened a full time office at 7219 Madison St in Forest Park. Carlyon will be available at all times to handle insurance needs. The village promotes annual events similar to a Centennial. Officials thank all who supported the Centennial.
