Local Masons Visit Elgin Lodge for Unity Meeting
A Forest Park Masonic team escorted 12 Masons to Elgin Lodge No. 117 in Elgin on a Friday evening to attend a special session at the city’s new Masonic temple on Chicago and Geneva streets. The surprise visit drew 126 attendees, more than double the Elgin lodge’s normal number, followed by a supper. A parallel group from Forest Park’s Eastern Star also traveled to Elgin for a concurrent meeting and banquet, with members returning late that night.

A cornice on Garfield School fell from the Jackson Park side Wednesday after being jarred loose by a recent storm. Little Girl Hit by Truck Near Madison Street
A seven year old girl, Josephine Lal, darted from a sidewalk and ran into a truck near Madison before noon on Tuesday. She was badly cut and bruised and taken to Oak Park hospital, but no bones or internal injuries were found. She was later sent home after treatment as spectators surrounded the scene and the driver helped.
