W F W honors Doc Sisson past commander of Forest Park Post 7181 and current commander of the 4th District Dept INL. About 100 friends attend the tribute presenting gifts and sharing a memorable evening January 16.
Public Property Commissioner Santo Rizzo warns residents that new sidewalks totaling about 80 000 square feet will suffer damage from salt during curing and winter use. He urges citizens to use snow shovels for snow removal and notes salt harms trees and plants while snow plowing remains necessary.
Incoming freshmen and parents should attend Walther Lutheran High School Melrose Park Illinois for registration and scheduling on February 2 and 3 between 4 00 to 5 00 PM or 7 00 to 9 00 PM Enrollment is open to Lutheran and non Lutheran students The school has about 460 students tuition varies by denomination and year Walther is accredited by the North Central Association and the State of Davis graduates frequently advance to college
The Forest Park Community Kidney Center at St Peters Church opened May 18 1969. The 1970 report by Head Nurse Marlon Shehan shows 815 dialysis treatments, 25 home dialysis patients, training scholarships planned, and assets totaling 3238 78 with funds received of 8944 09 and disbursed 7205 31.
A joint meeting of the West Suburban Juvenile Officers Association was held at Homer's Restaurant on Tuesday January 12. Forest Park Police Department and North Riverside Police Department co hosted. Judge Harry Schrier of the 4th District spoke. Chuck Whelpley was elected Treasurer and Chief Ziebell joined the Advisory Board.
Commissioner James Sansone announced a new street lighting project for Forest Park area including Marengo and Elgin Avenues and Harlem Avenue west of the Eisenhower to Jackson Boulevard. He vetoed a street resurfacing plan to fund under ground wiring and high intensity lights, saying the area is the town’s worst and urgent priority. Bids will go out soon and completion is to be expedited.
The Forest Park Review hosts a political social event titled Candidates Night on Thursday February 18 at 7 30 PM in Homer's Banquet Room 7340 Madison Street. Informal format aims to help voters choose village leaders for the next four years. Read The Review for details.
