Epicureans Dinner Banquet At Mangams Chateau Lyons
Forest Parkers are reminded the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet will be held at Mangams Chateau in Lyons on Tuesday evening January 22. Attendees can expect the Chateau’s food prizes and an evening of entertainment. Last year’s attendance was 550 with Howard Mohr leading prizes assisted by Ben Behn and Howard Reich. Secretary Andy Colville handles tickets and Jim Thomas heads committees.

Expressway Completion Is Far Off
CTA officials say the Congress Expressway through Forest Park won’t be finished for years. A temporary right of way is being graded between Austin Boulevard and Beloit Avenue, Forest Park, with another section to follow in 1957. Two railroads will use temporary tracks until the expressway is completed.

New Village Medical Building Opens in Forest Park
Arch Rierson announces the Forest Park Medical Building at 7318 Madison St opens this week. Three doctors plan to move in with two vacancies. Dr Jacob J Giardina already occupies a front suite, Dr Donald Platt and Dr Joseph C Sodaro expected to move in. The one story building, vacant a year, was formerly a gift shop, with remodeling since August and a crab or chard front cover.

Two Other Men Implicated in Forest Park Burglaries Trial Today
Forest Park police linked 20 to 22 burglaries across Forest Park River Forest and Oak Park to Lawrence P. Griffin 20 of Forest Park and two accomplices. Griffin was arrested after a failed burglary at Vern Muhlenhaupts tavern and led officers through a rapid, forceful apprehension. He admitted breaking into several locations including the Terminal Restaurant and Ordnance Lounge along with thefts of cash and beer. Associate Don M Gross and other accomplices were named. Griffin and Gross faced a magistrate later that day.

Forest Parkers To Honor Walker At Springfield
Forest Parkers will honor Representative Claude A. Walker Sr at a Springfield installation ceremony on January 9. A group will depart Chicago Union Station at 4 50 p m Tuesday January 8 and be lodged on cars during the Springfield visit. A full tour of activities in the state capitol is planned with many Forest Park residents listed among the attendees.

Adult Ballroom Classes Begin at Barnes-Roberts School
