Thirty six Forest Park residents are among the three tickets for township offices led by the Hetter Government, Suburban Justice and Proviso First parties. Fred Rose seeks re election as town clerk on the Better Government ticket. Hoyt Mohr seeks assessor, Leonard Karlin runs for auditor, and a large list of candidates fills clerk assessor collector highway commissioner pound master and auditor races. World Day of Prayer Observance in Forest Park
The World Day of Prayer ceremony will be held Friday at Forest Park Methodist Church marking the 75th anniversary. It unites Christians in prayer and missions offerings with services across the United States under the General Department of United Church Women. Obituary for John S. Murray Forest Park civic leader
John S. Murray of 447 S. Wigin died last week at age 82. He moved to Forest Park in 1913 and is survived by four children Loretta Broenen John Clara Trage and Joseph and 12 grandchildren. His wife Gertrude preceded him in death in 1946. Murray served as a scouting and football committee member and chaired local youth activities. Bowling was his main sport and he belonged to Vogel's major league, competing in suburban and Windy City meets for more than 40 years. He helped establish St Bernardine's first parish board and served as Park District of Forest Park commissioner. Before retirement he worked for Sears Roebuck and Regensteiner Corp Chicago.

Two Forest Park Boys Nominated to Naval Academy Tests
Two Forest Park youths Rudy Fleege and James Suhr were nominated to take admissions tests for the U S Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland.
