Chester Silski former owner of the Forest News Agency died unexpectedly Friday at age 4? The report notes he and his brother Joe moved to Forest Park 10 years ago and were active in civic life. A Requiem Mass was held at St Simeon church in Bellwood. He is survived by his wife Charlotte a daughter Barbara his mother Marie and sister Lucille.

Mayfair Construction Wins CTA Terminal Contract
A $969 900 contract was awarded to Mayfair Construction of 5660 N Jersey Ave for a 26 000 square foot rapid transit service and inspection shop at CTA Desplaines avenue terminal. The facility will service Congress Douglas and Milwaukee trains, include automated car washers, production line maintenance, and room for 12 cars. Construction begins within 10 days and should finish in about 15 months.

Police Nab Ex-Convicts in Paint Store Burglary Try
At midnight Monday Chester Garell and Eugene Leonard two ex-convicts from Chiciya drilled holes in the rear door of Genunt Paint at 7506 Madison. Don Stover spotted them and alerted police. Officers Md Schultz Lew Gao Fred Zimmerman and Dick Trie bes arrested the pair without resistance. They face attempted burglary charges before Judge Edward Schulz. Chief Joseph Conino urged residents to report suspicious activity.

Dr George J Baumgartner longtime Forest Park health figure dies
Friends and patients mourn Dr George J Baumgartner former Forest Park health commissioner and longtime Oak Park physician died of a heart attack in Oak Park hospital. He served Forest Park as health commissioner 1947 to 1958 and worked 89 years at Oak Park hospital. He held roles with Concordia Mutual Insurance and Concordia Teachers College and earned his MD in 1923 from the University of Illinois.
