Educational talk on nutrition and doughnuts at Forest Park meeting

Mrs H Peterson, a science teacher, led a doughnut cooking demonstration for the Parent-Teacher Association. She explained vegetable oils for frying and shared a tested recipe while Dr Eleanor Masstow proposed a Memorial Hall benefit dinner in March to fund teacher meals, with music by Margaret Schultz and readings by Mildred Tubin.

Wedding shower and burglaries reported in local notes

A miscelaneous shower for Miss Amanda was held at Miu Temow's home with prizes in bunco and several solos by Miss Hall. Nearby, the Gaden home on Thomas avenue was burglarized while the family was away. a similar break in at Mrs. H. Thompson's home yielded a gold watch and $20. Police urged vigilance amid a spate of robberies.

Sixth Birthday Party for Norbert Bartlett

Robert Bartlett’s son Norbert celebrated turning six at 032 Circle Avenue with twenty young guests. Fifteen attended, games and prizes featured winners Josephine Holab, Kernice Mears, Erle Suth, and Kennith Cook. The menu included cakes and cocoa, fish and bird shaped treats, and fruit. Mrs. Susie Curtis entertained with stories and was given a handkerchief as a keepsake.

Village council in weekly session approves measures and hears requests

The mayor and all commissioners met to approve minutes and discuss a Madison street building proposal from Harlem Avenue to the Delaware river. They granted a Public Service Co permit to lay a go winlo along Harlem, heard petitions from Oak Park groups on the state constitution, and from the Forest Park American Legion and other bodies. A plan to limit smokestack noise at Barr & Colvia's plant was introduced, along with a building ordinance revival and bids for removing the water tower iron part.

Water Tower Committee Delays Village Report

The water tower committee of the Commercial association failed to report at last Monday's village council meeting. Chairman William Horner said the panel is touring villages to assess conditions and will present a report at their earliest convenience.

American Legion Holds Important Forest Park Meeting

Members of Forest Park Post No 414 American Legion gathered at the community clubhouse last Friday for an entertainment and meeting. Resolutions urged the village mayor and council to secure land for public parks and playgrounds, fund recreation there, and support a Memorial Hall project. The program featured speakers on patriotism and community work, with a social close.

Forest Park Committees Set for the Year

Forest Park held its regular February meeting with Henry NI. Belleman presiding and Ernest Kottke as secretary. The group planned a Valentine masquerade, Memorial services, Mikado opera by Miss Theres Nola, July Fourth celebration, and a three day indoor carnival, with prizes from local merchants for Memorial Hall funds.

Automobiles Robberies Increase Across Districts

A spate of auto robberies grips the Worent Lark and May wood area. Sunday night J L dull of Herwyn is robbed on Sud and Desplatres avenues. The following night Dr Pember and party, including two young women, are held up on 22nd and D explaines. a diamond brooch was stolen from a member of the party but recovered. Police report abandoned cars linked to the two incidents.
