Citizens urged to vote February 18 in a special election to extend bonding power for Forest Park improvements. Federal funds cover part of the cost, with $325,000 from government and $50,389 from a federal allotment. remaining costs rely on local bonds and timely material delivery.
The village council unanimously approved a five year contract granting P.S.Co. the right to face ninth power for the term. Another item approved subdividing a plot at Forest Were Cemetery. no new property was dedicated, only unused land from the 1880s was clarified to have been subdivided.
Funeral services were held January 27 for George T Hills of 1339 Elgin Avenue. He was the beloved father of Max Hills Florence Hills in St Louis Kenneth Hills and several daughters. He is survived by sisters and brothers including Mrs Ida Withite Mrs Jeasie Myers and Whitford Hills with further relatives listed in the notice.
Mrs. H. Ring and her daughter Mary Ann Ring are spending the winter months in California. Mrs. Ring is the wife of Henry Ring of Otto's Restaurant in Forest Park.
A Proviso township meeting announced five candidates led by Georg Nixon for county commissioner. The slate includes Alan de Ashcraft Jr of Evanston, Fred A. Bulle of Desplaines, Kurt Berliner of Forest Park, Thomas Metta of Berwyn, and Pyotr Titel, with backgrounds in law, real estate, and civic service. The Forest Park Woman's Chorus will meet at Brookfield Recreation Center under Miss Alexandra Snertus.
County Treasurer Herger announces revision of personal property tax records for 1934 and 1936 to reflect court reductions and payments. The update clarifies tax receipts for budgets, reduces delinquency rates, and shows weekly collections totaling $1,199,505.14, including real estate and personal liability payments.
The Infant Welfare group in Forest Park urges residents to donate canned goods and perishable items for a penny social and basket raffle. Joseph Lelivelt of Proviso Township is officially a county commissioner candidate. The announcement followed a party meeting in which Lelivelt outlined a campaign itinerary to reach every precinct before the election.

Forest Park prepares for its second annual ice derby on February 13 at 1 30 pm. Entries must be in by February 8, with registration at the Park District office or recreation offices. Events include boys and girls age classes, open classifications, and special races for families. Each entrant must certify age with a parent or guardian.
