Forest Park landmark gave way to bulldozers at Harlem and Harrison
A 1912 built two story structure at Harlem and Harrison was demolished last month to make way for a Chrysler sales room valued at 350000 dollars. The Vogel family operated a tavern on the first floor with living quarters above and this site hosted early semi pro baseball at a four stage building with dining room and bowling alleys added in 1923. A Chrysler service facility will sit across the street on the old baseball diamond, with completion planned for spring.
