Village council to rule on 45 unit apartment project

Monday night the Forest Park village council discussed a 45 unit L shaped building at 7328 Randolph and 208-10 Circle, with zoning board approval and variations requested. Also reviewed was a 68 unit seven story apartment at 3900 04 Lathrop, with zoning board denial for the variation. A single family home at 1214 Elgin was approved. Plans for jail remodeling, tree planting funds, and street lighting repairs were reported, along with completed sewer intercepter work to reroute storm water and reduce basement flooding.

Forest Park Jr High PTA Meets With Juvenile Officer Guest

The Forest Park Junior High P T A will gather Tuesday at 8 p m in the school cafeteria. Guest speaker Sgt Fred Zimmerman Juvenile Officer will discuss Juvenile Problems. Halloween movies by Mr Van Dyke Field Stevenson school will be shown with refreshments provided by 8th grade mothers.

Italian Federation To Elect Officers

The Italian Catholic Federation will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, December 7 at 8 pm in St. Bernardine's School Cafeteria. All members are requested to attend. Election of offices and final arrangements for the Christmas party will be announced. The party date is Saturday December 10 at 6 pm, also in the school cafeteria, with dinner, music, prizes, games, and fun promised.

Christmas Party for Forest Park Little League Moms

The Forest Park Little League Women's Auxiliary hosts a December 1 gathering at 7 30 p m in the Park Building. Members who missed the November meeting may donate $1 toward food. The event features a pot luck buffet, grab bag gift exchange, and the final drawing for the 1966 Pot of Gold. Hostesses include Lena Mare Mildred Long Estelle Messina Carol Csech Joan Levita and Isabelle Felbo.

Santa Visits In Forest Park Saturday

The Forest Park Chamber of Commerce announced Santa will visit Roosevelt and Elgin at 10 a.m. and Madison and Burkhart Court at 11 a.m. on Saturday December 3. The chamber sponsors free photos of service members' children with Santa and a phone number 366-2543 provides information.

Two Men Assaulted Near Harlem and Madison

Two men, Harry Nicholson of 315 Harlem and Norman Cohen of Melrose Park, were assaulted by youths Saturday night at Harlem and Madison. They were taken to Oak Park hospital with contusions. One assailant, Kurt Lorenz, was identified and booked for assault and battery. his father brought him to Forest Park police. Lorenz refused to name accomplices.

Witt Presents Study on $950000 Water System Overhaul

Commissioner Witt outlined a $950000 to $1 million plan to rebuild and modernize the village water system. He showed financing options, rate adjustments, and a two-tier pricing structure to fund upgrades without all-new rate hikes, noting leaks and aging pipes drive costs and that the full program is needed now. The plan, supported by Mayor Mohr, will be debated at a special council meeting next Monday night.
