Proviso Township High School Acts on Secret Societies
Proviso Township High School trustees pass a resolution banning public school fraternities and secret societies after months of study. The rule, effective Sept 1 1949, bars participation in school activities and imposes possible expulsion for members. Insignia and membership cards are restricted and students must sign non membership statements with parents’ consent.
