William Dorsey, 251 Franklin Street, described as a moving picture operator for the American Red Cross. He has four years of experience and worked on the Nation’s Birth project, served with the Strand and the Over the Top film, and recently enlisted two months ago, receiving official notification.
The fall term opens September 3 with six year old beginners eligible if on or before November 1. Parents must submit a sworn admission application before a notary or justice. Applications available at Judge Schumacher's office or the superintendent. The registrar will sign apps at designated early morning sessions. Dr Seuklaa’s physician certificates required for non-attenders, with August dates at Garfeld School. Proviso Township High School Superintendent Thalman invites prospective pupils and parents to meet, discuss studies, and obtain information.
Thomus R. app of Oak Park leads a quartet of mutual friends to support the War Savings drive. They performed at Oak Park theater and Forest Park venues, raising seventy five dollars in stamps as Mrs Feet Moelly Gale and others sang familiar wartime pieces.

A spate of daylight burglaries struck Forest Park over the past week. On Monday August 19 a widow, Fredericks of 7611 Monroe Street, was robbed of forty dollars and jewelry. she is in Oak Park Hospital after surgery. A second break at the Fritz drug store rear flats at 414 Beloit Avenue involved two men casing the place and prying doors. valuables were taken while jewelry and other items were left untouched. Neighbors observed a car and a woman, then two men in garb resembling diamond cutters. The attackers used careful entry and left the scene with multiple rings and pieces, including engagement rings, while other valuables were spared. Neighborhood groups met Friday afternoon to crochet quilt squares for a local charity.

Dorothea Baumgartner twenty two of Forest Park is killed when a limousine strikes her after she steps from a Madison street car at Jackson boulevard. Witnesses say the car failed to stop properly despite the ordinance requiring a full stop. The chauffeur George Tully testified he did not expect the streetcar to stop. Funeral services were held August 19 at St John’s Church with ecclesiastical rites in English and German. Survived by parents and four brothers, one sister.
Jobo Kukux died Monday at his Wied street residence after illness. His death followed the death of his daughter Mire Edilian Voon, age thirty four, who left six small children. Blood poisoning after a long illness is cited. Funeral services were held at his residence Thursday at 2 30 p.m. Burial at Guk Midge.
Alma Heidenway daughter of Mr and Mrs Juhn Meldenway of 610 Jfannah venta Chicago died suddenly at Dr James A Boughs home on South Aukland Boulevard. Morphine injections and rapid decline triggered a coroner's inquiry with Dr Hrough charged with murder. Inquest set for September 16 with bond at 5000. Funeral held Friday with rites at home and St Bernardine’s Cathedral.
A village council meeting in Forent Park Illinois featured a letter from We Ky Cotton accusing officers of raiding a location on De Mattwin Street and Current Avenue. The letter states arrests for resisting an officer and a case set for July hearings with continued dates and demands for restitution and expenses.
Foreat Park merchants plan a wide ranging sale on next Wednesday August 28 with many businesses in Forest Park offering colonial bargains. Stores include Jacob's PItammacy The Mazall Store Forest Park Jewelry Store Tenny Putz Landh Bilch Circle Market and several others on Madison Street and nearby avenues.
Captain W F Lasseter of the O T C unit 870 received notice to report to Camp Gordon on Thursday. He told the troops of his resignation to join the training corps and pursue further service, while expressing pride in their loyalty. A farewell reception was planned by Unit 876, and a brief meeting and election were scheduled for August 28.
