Porch railing collapse injures Mrs. Lee Ernst
Mrs. Lee Ernst of 920 Elgip was taken to Oak Park hospital by local police after a porch rail broke and she fell. The incident occurred Thursday as she leaned on the railing, injuring herself.

Forest Park Honors Its Oldest Resident Bertha Olsen
Bertha Olsen aged 93 and Forest Park’s oldest resident died July 28. She ran a catering service to age 80 and lived at 540 Circle for 67 years. She belonged to the King’s Daughters and Forest Park Methodist church. Services were at Zimmermans conducted by Rev. Jean Saltzman. Burial at Mt. Olive.

The Forest Park Community Chest Executive Board met August 12 at Village Hall to plan a drive from Labor Day to November 15. House-to-house collections run October 14 to 28, with a kickoff October 14. Section leaders meet October 7 for final instructions. Budget covers five agencies including Girl Scouts Boy Scouts and Welfare services.
