Herbert Hoover's address delivering the Republican nomination acceptance in Palo Alto Calif marked a masterly effort portending a statesmanlike presidency. About 700 delegates including ministers and laymen are expected with sessions at First Congregational Church. Prof H Van Berga will preach in Forest Park on opening Sunday and Prof L Kaiser will preside, elected three years ago.

Maywood paper questions a high school board dispute with the Review. The Review maintains Proviso Township High School is near funds for a new building on Washington Boulevard. President Neilus denies contradiction, noting no action by the ahah school. The zoning commission may transfer land for a high school site, with Forest Preserve board action pending.

Forest Park police extract the body of Herman Flashaar of Ani ta after a suicide in the forest preserve on August 10. Sergeant Herbert Berni of the forest preserve force, aided by Maywood Boy Scouts who found the body, arranged transport to Senne's undertaking parlors on Luke Street.
At the village council meeting Monday evening Mayor iGold and all commissioners were present. Crawford Bros. bond was approved and the mayor issued a proclamation declaring Thursday a legal holiday for the community picnic at Good Templar Park.
A long effort rebuilt Hohenstein into a headquarters for Wander-Fogel, a major youth movement across Germany after World War I. The castle houses thousands, with 600 overnight, reflecting the movement's scale. The journey features a cliff ascent by sloping road and pony express travel, amid incidents and Goethe and Schiller heritage before continued tours to Heidelberg and Nuremberg.
