Conrad Wilke aged 88 took his own life Thursday morning in the bathroom of the Adams street Ferdinand avenue corner flat where he and his wife lived. Despondent over health, he was known as a longtime Forest Park resident and former butcher. Two Chicago daughters, Mrs Freda Schultz and Mrs Ainie Schneider, attend the inquest. Funeral today at the home. Alfred Mayer, 1012 Marengo avenue, completed freshman year at Chicago College of Dental Surgery and ranked high in class. a Proviso High School graduate.

Carl J. Berghaus of Wallatta was buried with military honors in Forest Park, Madison Street chapel, Concordia Cemetery. Eleven men from the American region supplied the guard, including A. F. Quandt as commander and Walter Neudimer as sergeant. He enlisted in the 818th engineer corps and died August 2, 1023, in Portland, Oregon. Earl Shepherd of Forest Park, Oak Park, left for the National Home for Tuberculosis at Milwaukee. He is ill for three years after wartime hardships. Local Legion members held a farewell party for about thirty. The Shepherds lived at Elgin Avenue and Adams Street. Karl Shepherd, once healthy, now suffers from tuberculosis and will join other veterans being moved to Milwaukee for better care.
