Forest Park school board has hired Edwin John Laucus of Chicago to teach band and instrument classes in public schools. Small classes will cover string woodwind and brass. a grade school band will form after student progress. Mrs. Josephine Lockern of 7202 Franklin suffered a severe cut to her thumb near the wrist on July 31 from a broken bottle. She was taken to Oak Park hospital for treatment.

Funeral services for Lt. Robert A. Schaluske killed in action in 1944 will be held Saturday at 1 30 p m at Zimmermans chapel with Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 7181 in charge Rev E Paul to officiate. Interment at Forest Home cemetery. He was born April 5 1921 in Forest Park and studied at St John’s and Proviso High School. He served overseas six months before being killed returning from a mission over Colar France. He lived at 7452 Franklin and is survived by his mother Mrs Emilia Schaloske and his sister Mrs Edna Griffith of River Forest.

Forest Park Youth organization sponsors the Dry Dock at 7200 Madison on the third floor with a formal opening scheduled for Wednesday evening August 17. The hall rent is paid by Forest Park and reception board. Coke dances occur every Friday for Forest Park youths ages 13 to 20 who may obtain free membership cards.
