The Theatre for Youth program at Park closes with a final Saturday showing on April 30 featuring The Twelve Dancing Princesses and Sleeping Beauty. Instructors Mrs. Mona Green and Miss Joan Brotman lead the event, with 1 pm starts in Park Building 2nd and 3rd floor halls and public encouraged to attend.
Marshall Quandt leads the Proviso Township Republican organization in finalizing plans for a campaign dinner. Charles Percy will speak as endorsed candidates attend the event at Chateau Royale on April 28. Tickets cost $10 and include cocktails at 6:30 p.m. with dinner dancing and refreshments. Contact precinct captains or call 243-9765 to purchase.
The Field-Stevenson Jr High PLTA holds its final meeting of the year on Tuesday May 3 at 8 p.m. Unified Arts classes display student handiwork with projects completed and in progress. Home Arts, Art, and Shop classes by teachers Mrs Vymola Mr Wolberg and Mr Rusk will showcase exhibited items.
Over 200 people will gather at the Forest Park VFW Hall, 424 Des Plaines, on May 5 to discuss Howard R. Mohr's campaign for State Senator. Mohr will introduce Republican incumbents Lawrence Pusateri and William Walsh for Representative and Rep. Township Committeeman Marshall Quandt, urging a strong turnout in the June 14 primary to showcase Republican strength in Proviso. meeting starts at 7 pm with refreshments served.
John Pronos, graduate of St. John Lutheran School and Walther Lutheran High School, will be listed in the program of the forty second annual Honors Convocation at the University of Mlingls on Friday.
About twenty residents from Elgin and Harlem gathered at a village meeting to denounce what they called an abominable situation at 429 Harlem. They alleged a junk shop and tire repair yard used as a wash room with congestion, rats, early morning disturbances, and zoning violations. Officials heard but took no action.
Honor Mrs Brady Marie Veldman Brady longtime Forest Park resident and St Bernardine's graduate retires from Oak Park hospital after 19 years of service. She progressed from kitchen work to Assistant office manager and credit manager and was named Employee of the Year before retirement.
President Marion Hi of Forest Park Eagles Auxiliary 1344 and members served cupcakes and ice cream to wounded veterans at Great Lakes Hospital. Teens performed with The Undertakers and singer Michelle Langudge. The group donated time and talent, lifting spirits despite the veterans' conditions.
The Village Clerk's office will be open all day Monday and Tuesday May 2 and 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. to accept voters' registrations.
The annual Mother Daughter Banquet will be held on May 4 at Forest Park Moose Lodge 510 Desplaines. Lodge 1671 members will serve at 6 30 p.m. Tickets cost 1.50 for adults and 0 78 for children under 12, available at the lodge or from Academy of Friendship members.
