Watch Out For This Pair In Forest Park Swindle
Police warn of a pigeon drop scam in Forest Park where two men posing as home repair workers swindled a 62 year old resident out of 1900 by taking pre payment and fleeing after accompanying him to the bank. Local officials say Spring brings similar door to door fraud and urge calling police if solicitors appear without department approval. The suspects drove a green late model panel truck and composite sketches were created from the victim’s descriptions using the new Idento-Kit.

American Legion to Host Benefits Seminar

An agreement would relocate Forest Park Oktoberfest from Madison Street to a vacant lot at Elgin Avenue and Harrison Street. Mayor, village council, and Oktoberfest officials attended the meeting. Festival leaders say the beer garden, music, and Sunday parade will be scaled back to gauge public response. If all goes smoothly, Oktoberfest 72 should be approved at the April 10 council meeting and held September 22 to 24. Applications for participation are due by April 30.
